In "Sideline Dad", the final episode of season 3, the series focuses on a father who is a football coach. This episode is a possible reference to the 1998 episode "Powerprof," which was made into a 2016 reboot. One character, Robin Snyder, is referred to as "Candice" by a fellow player. However, we cannot be sure of this connection. This episode is not yet available on Netflix.
Ben Mendelsohn

Actor Ben Mendelsohn has had a mid-career break, appearing in movies like The Dark Knight Rises and The Place Beyond the Pines. He also appeared as a guest star on the television series Girls, voicing the father of the title character. In this interview, he discusses the character's complexities, the show's volatile setting, and what viewers can expect in season one.

Ben Mendelsohn's career began with appearances on Australian television shows. After receiving his big break in 2010's Animal Kingdom, he landed roles playing complex lawbreakers in Killing Them Softly, The Place Beyond the Pines, and Starred Up. His latest movie, Slow West, has achieved cult status. He wore a fur coat to the Sundance Film Festival premiere to celebrate its success.
Ted Horvath

In Ted Horvath's new comedy "Dads and Girls," he plays a supportive husband and father who tries to save his daughter Hannah from her troubled home life. While he never spoils the good vibes, he also maintains a healthy sexual relationship with his wife Loreen. In fact, he got naked with her on their anniversary! What could be better than this?

Besides his role on "Dads and Girls," Ted Horvath is also the father of Hannah Dunham. In this series, he comes out as gay, leaving his wife to pursue a new life. In a way, this portrayal is particularly heartbreaking, as the series explores the plight of gay men, especially those whose partners have been married for decades. Despite his success in the film industry, he remained married to his wife, who played his wife Tracy Shayne on "ER."
Loreen Horvath

Tad Horvath, played by Peter Scolari, came out as gay in a recent episode of the HBO comedy series Girls. Tad is the father of Hannah Horvath, the daughter of Lena Dunham's character Loreen. While Hannah didn't necessarily believe him at first, she came to love him anyway, and it was the perfect way to bring her father's secret out to the world.

Elijah's entrance into Hannah's life is a perfect example of this. Elijah storms out of the bar when Hannah gets too drunk to care about him, muttering "nice to see you." However, after Hannah finishes her monologue, he reveals his true nature to Hannah: he's gay. As a result, Hannah feels humiliated.
Tad Horvath

Peter Scolari portrayed Tad Horvath, the gay dad of Hannah Horvath on the hit TV show Girls. He was a mild-mannered and sensitive character, contrasting with Loreen's overbearing, demanding ways. Although  The Girl Dad Show  was not able to find a job right out of college, Tad provided for her, and eventually she grew tired of being taken advantage of.

In "Dads and Girls," Tad is a supportive father and husband who is desperate to come to the rescue of his daughter. While he's unable to save Hannah, he does try to make her feel special.  The Girl Dad Show  with Loreen is also portrayed positively, and he gets naked with her on their anniversary. However, he tries to repress his lust and embrace his role as a father.
